A recent study revealed that, with as little as three years of participation, youth involved in Scouting are more likely to have positive character attributes and choose helping others over being the best.

Building Communities

Scouts and Explorers across America recorded more than 15.4 million hours of service to their communities, at a value of more than $363.5 million (based on a national volunteer-hour value of $23.56). Eagle Scout projects, which are planned, developed, and led by Scouts, accounted for more than $196 million in service to the nation alone.

1.1 MILLION

SCOUTS EARNED NEARLY 1.1 MILLION MERIT BADGES (PRIMARILY IN A VIRTUAL SETTING) WHILE EXPLORING A RANGE OF OFFERINGS IN 138 FIELDS THAT REFLECT BOTH THEIR INTERESTS AND OUR RAPIDLY EVOLVING CULTURE.

Building Adventure

Throughout the summer camp season, more than 800,000 boys and girls participated in immersive outdoor experiences across the nation. This diverse group included 414,774 Cub Scouts, 373,893 Scouts BSA members, and 13,224 participants from Sea Scouts and Venturing. The weeklong camps provided youth with a myriad of exciting programs, contributing to Scouts' personal growth and exemplifying the fundamental Scouting values of outdoor appreciation, leadership, and environmental responsibility.
