FAQs
Where do you put patches on a Cub Scout uniform?
The placement of patches on your Cub Scout uniform depends on the emblem. The Council shoulder patch goes on the left sleeve of the Cub Scout uniform. The Unit numeral patch should go below the Council shoulder patch. The U.S flag emblem should come sewn on the upper right sleeve of every Cub Scout uniform. The Den number patch should go below the flag on the right sleeve. You should leave about a ½-inch space between the U.S. flag emblem and the Den number patch. For more information on the placement of patches and earned emblems on the official Cub Scout uniform, check out our blog: The Beginner’s Guide to Cub Scout Uniform Insignia

Do Cub Scouts have to wear uniforms?
Cub Scouts must wear the official Cub Scout uniform depending on rank (i.e., Lion, Tiger, Wolf, Bear, or Webelos) to all Cub Scouting activities, including den and pack meetings, outings, and all other activities done with members of the den or pack.

What is the full Cub Scout uniform?
The full uniform depends on the Cub Scout rank. For uniform bottoms, Lion, Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Scouts may choose between the official navy-blue uniform pants, shorts, or skorts. Webelos Scouts may choose between the official olive uniform pants, shorts, or skorts. The official uniform shirt for Lion Scouts is the blue t-shirt with the Lion logo, while Tiger, Wolf, and Bear Scouts must wear the long or short sleeve navy blue uniform shirt. Webelos are required to wear the official long or short sleeve tan shirt. Tiger, Bear, Wolf, and Webelos must wear the official navy-blue Cub Scout with a web belt, but the web belt is optional for Lion Scouts. Lion, Wolf, and Bear Scouts must wear the official dark blue socks with gold tops. Tiger Scouts can wear the official dark blue socks with orange tops, and Webelos Scouts must wear the official green socks. Lion Scouts wear the official blue t-shirt with the Lion logo as their uniform top. We occasionally update Cub Scout uniform shirts and pants to include updated pocket designs and fabrics so your Cub Scout can feel comfortable participating in Scouting activities.

Tiger Scouts can wear an orange neckerchief with a blue border. Wolf Scouts can wear red with a blue border. Bear Scouts can wear light blue with a dark blue border.
