Introducing the Messengers of Peace initiative, created by the World Scout Committee to recognize Scout units worldwide undertaking projects contributing to world peace. Annually, the BSA International Committee will recognize projects that are submitted to the Messengers of Peace Committee by Council Scout Executive, the International Representative, and/or the Council Advancement Chair that exemplify all aspects of the Messengers of Peace program and have proven to be outstanding examples of the Messengers of Peace program. The recipient(s) will receive a uniform medal, a METALLIC GOLD ring (the distinguished emblem that will be edged in metallic gold), and a neckerchief. Scouts participating in peace-related projects, particularly qualifying Eagle Scout and William T. Hornaday Award projects, are eligible to wear a special Messengers of Peace Ring Patch, Distinguished Emblem around the World Crest on their uniforms. To participate, simply submit your projects through the Journey to Excellence website and check the Messengers of Peace box on the submission page.
