Introducing the Messengers of Peace initiative, created by the World Scout Committee to recognize Scout units worldwide undertaking projects contributing to world peace. The champion aligns with the Community Based Dimension, it will be edged in blue color and to be earned requires a more in-depth project, with more extensive pre-planning and a minimum of 10 service hours. Enables others to work on a project and thereby earn the Messenger of Peace Award themselves. Scouts participating in peace-related projects, particularly qualifying Eagle Scout and William T. Hornaday Award projects, are eligible to wear a special Messengers of Peace Ring Patch, Champion Emblem around the World Crest on their uniforms. To participate, simply submit your projects through the Journey to Excellence website and check the Messengers of Peace box on the submission page.
