The hickory saplings he uses come from the mountains of North Georgia, Southeast Tennessee, and Northwest Alabama. They are harvested in the winter months when the sap is "down", ensuring the natural bark will adhere to the piece indefinitely, providing lasting beauty. Jesse's father, Phill Faircloth, learned the art of hickory woodcraft from the Amish and founded the family business in Georgia in 1987. One paddle arm is routed to hold a custom disk design of your choosing.
