Belay device with assisted braking capability is designed to facilitate belay maneuvers, working equally well for lead climbing and top-roping. The GRIGRI 2 may be used on all single dynamic 8.9 to 11 mm ropes on the market (optimized for 9.4 mm to 10.3 mm ropes).
Compact, ultra-light design features:
• Excellent control during descent - one hand holds rope, other uses handle to unlock cam
• Assisted braking - during fall arrest, belayer holds free end of rope, cam pivots and pinches rope, increasing braking action until rope stops sliding
